Sometimes life can be daunting and we can often feel like we don't know which way to take our lives or even what we actually want to do in life. My biggest piece of advice if you feel like this is to trust the process. I am quite an inpatient person at times and want to know exactly what will happen when but that's not always possible.
So instead I have got some tips that will hopefully help assist you in the process and move you closer to what you wan to do in life.
Tip 1 - Try New Things
This could be trying out a new hobby, trying out a new project, taking on a completely different job role, going to university etc. The moral of the story with this tip is that by trying something new you are opening up your mind and experiencing something that you might enjoy and will lead you down your life path.
Tip 2 - Read
Now not everybody loves to read so maybe substitute this one for a podcast or an audiobook but essentially you want to be reading or listening to podcasts/audiobooks as much as you can so you can digest new bits of information. Sometimes I find that when I read I come up with new ideas that I want to try as my mind is relaxed.
Tip 3 - Say Yes to Experiences More
By agreeing to run a marathon or climb some mountains or jumping out of a plane, you are stepping outside of your comfort zone and experiencing something that you wouldn't experience if you were sat at home in your room. Life is for living so go out there and experience more of life.
Tip 4 - Review, Review, Review
Constantly review your interests and values as these are the pin point for what will develop your experiences or when it comes down to trying something new. By doing things you enjoy, you are already developing as one day that hobby might turn into your dream job for example.
Tip 5 - Think Longer Term and Bring It Back
What is it that you want to achieve in life? Do you want to own a house? Do you want a flashy car? Do you want to live comfortably? Whatever your dreams are in life, write them down and then work out the steps you need to do to get you there. Dreams and goals won't happen naturally, you need to take action to achieve them.
Tip 6 - Take a Risk
Perhaps you are so keen to start your own business or you really want this job you've seen advertised but don't think you'll get it. Whatever it is that you are shying away from, step back and think to yourself: what's the worst that will happen?
Your business doesn't work out, so think of a different idea or get another job in the meantime. You don't get the job you'd applied for but you still got the interviewing and applying experience.
Take a risk as 9 times out of 10 you haven't got anything to loose.
Tip 7 - Relax
For someone like me, this can be easier said than done, but learn to relax and accept that everything will happen for a reason. I believe personally that you will get to where you need to be in life but it just takes time. Therefore, do things in the background to help you progress but know in the back of your mind that your life path journey will take time.
Tip 8 - Practice Visualising
If you have a clear idea of where you want your life path to go or you have a clear goal in mind, one way to help bring this goal or your path to life is by visiaulisng it. Picture or write down what the day will look like once you've reach your goal. Visualise what your life path journey will look like and what the individual steps are. By visualising you are training your sub conscious mind to think about your goal and it will help you work towards it.
So there are some tips to help you when it comes to assisting your life path. As I say, figuring out your life path sometimes takes time but hopefully these steps will help you in the meantime.
